MAIZAN ELECTRONICS Pvt. Ltd. was established as a company under the Ministry of Trade and Industries on September, 05 1981 with two share holders. However, since 1962 the company has been running as Maizan Radio Services in the country and it is the first company to act as a dedicated radio service centre for the radio broadcast and telecommunications sector in the Maldives.
History
As the only privately owned and run communications and broadcasting equipments service center in the country during the 60's, we realized the importance of communications and broadcasting infrastructure and its impact to the lifeline of any business, in a developing country like the Maldives. As a result, our business focus repair, installations and servicing of domestic radio sets, home appliances, communications and navigational equipment on board marine vessels, Maizan Radio Service center pioneered radio telephone sets. In establishing ourselves, we installed our own home-made communication equipment at different key locations throughout the country to set up initial inter atoll communication system, as required by the government. We also installed and maintained communication radio sets on board many out bound marine. In 1981, we started the first FM radio broadcasting services in the country on 104MHz . However, in 1982 as the new ruling declined any private broadcasting in the country, the government purchased the station and continued as a government own broadcasting FM station.
